A sudden, new game in a genre that has not received good additions for a long time. Big campaign. Random cards. Creating levels. Many ships.
The game is announced for the Windows platform.
LYRICAL INTRODUCTION
I was very surprised to see such a powerful game. Even more surprising was the fact that the game is being made (it is still being actively developed) by only two (2!) person.
Space, and in it there is a war between five nations, humanity and four alien races.
The gameplay is pure RTS.
The content part contains the mighty:
The game presents quite a lot of types of resources, a lot of different buildings and ships.
Quite an interesting and complicated economic system – I liked the barges that transport ore from storage facilities near asteroid fields to the main base.
Many types of ships. From https://huay444casino.co.uk/ agile fighters to heavily armored and long-range missile carriers.
Some ships find invisible units, some can carry smaller ships, some cannot be hit by a missile due to their mobility, in general – the range of uses of combat units is quite large.
Different ships even fly differently. Fighters can easily maneuver among asteroids, but a large spaceship will have to find a clear path.
There is also a system for qualitative improvement of ships within the mission.
I personally found the story missions quite challenging and intense. The enemy AI, even on easy difficulty, attacks in various and unpleasant ways, looks for weak points in the defense and hits directly at them, you have to take into account different scenarios for the development of events. It’s easy to lose the economy. This, in fact, is one of the reasons why I didn’t get into the game too much – it’s a little complicated.
The creators deliberately tried to make a game with the usual classic controls and they succeeded. Almost everyone has implemented features familiar to the mastodons of the genre: hotkey control, division into squads, and so on.
Let’s look at the pros and cons of the game and summarize.
+ Very good music and sound. I don’t often highlight this point, but the soundtrack here is really cool.
+ Lots of story missions.
+ There are random battles and a map editor.
+ Good economy, many ships and buildings.
+ There is clear and quite detailed training.
+ Russian localization of text has appeared.
THINGS THAT CAN BE BOTH A PLUS AND A MINUS:
+- I found the game a bit difficult. Taking into account the fact that I do not overestimate my skills, I can conclude that a more skilled player might like.
– No manual configuration of control hot keys.
– There are small bugs. Instead of screenshots using F12, the debugging console appears, sometimes (it happened to me once) the menus are buggy (they open and do not close).
– No co-op. I think this is quite a significant minus for an RTS.
A game with excellent development of the content core (story campaign, units, buildings, AI, map editor), but there are some drawbacks. If you add it all up, the overall impression is still good. It is clear that titanic work has been put into the game and its implementation is worthy. If at some point the jambs are eliminated, it will be an excellent RTS.
PS: I probably didn’t cover all the aspects, I might have missed something. I will be glad to add/correct the review or answer questions along the way in the comments.
