The marshal adjusted his favorite felt hat. The situation was not easy: to come, see and take the leader of a gang of caravan robbers, alive or dead, did not work out, since the conspiracy died the death of the brave, and now our brave hero found himself locked in a small farmer’s house, under fire from turrets and enemy snipers. Apparently it was necessary to select equipment better – Marshal Burton thought, it’s worth rebooting – the player decided.
Cosmic deuce
Space marshals 2 (which for some reason is not in the SG database), like the first part, uses as decoration a not the most hackneyed setting – a kind of wild west in space. And if at these words you are reminded of a brilliant (no) series, you know what the name is, then you shouldn’t get your hopes up, expecting well-developed characters or an exciting plot from the game – this is not the best idea.
The team of main characters are walking stereotypes/parodies (so much so that one of them in the first part suffered from the “prison beard” syndrome, which grows in captivity in the blink of an eye), and the main story, despite a couple of “what a twist”, cannot offer anything new compared to the first part.
Again, we spend half the game catching gang leaders, this time cosplaying as pirates, not cowboys, after which we foil another insidious plan of the local evil corporation. In addition, the game does not explain what happened since the first part, where Blackburn went and what happened to the final cliffhanger. And there are fewer jokes this time. There are fewer interesting staged situations, such as escaping from captivity with a bare belly or flashbacks with a predetermined set of weapons.
But the latter has become more. https://onyx2playcasino.co.uk/bonus/ Although most of them migrated from the first part (laser sniper rifle and the same SMG – van love), something new and also unique appeared, issued for COR-V tokens (a collected item that replaced evidence from the first part) in the local Hub, which this time does not change, with the exception of a couple of missions.
Wild caps
In general, this is not the only change in the loot collecting system. As before, we choose one gun/gadget/armor from the available ones, depending on the results of completing the mission, however, the most important element of customization is hats, now you need to personally search for it on the level, shake off the dust (no) and take it with you to the base in order to try it on in the mirror.
However, this time collecting all the guns and gear in the galaxy is a little easier. Why? Thanks to gameplay changes.
Fastest tapper in the wild west
As before, before each mission, we dress in the latest fashion of space marshals and their opponents (a cocked hat with a feather – top) and put together a briefcase of the main weapon, an additional one, two gadgets, among which devices vary from good old dynamite (an integral element of a Western) to teleporters (Si-Fi, after all), although they don’t allow you to drag a mechanical beetle with you, apparently due to the complete lack of their organic analogues this time. After careful preparation, we are driven to a location where, as a rule, we need to find something, kill someone, not kill someone, or turn on the switch. It sounds (if you voice this text in your head in the voice of a nasal schoolboy, of course) somehow prosaic, but it plays quite interestingly.
The variability is quite good – the gameplay of John Rambo with a plasma machine gun, whose bullets ricochet off the walls, differs from the gameplay of a prudent marshal with a silent sniper rifle, luring enemies to their own in case of alarm, reprogramming the turret. There are even non-lethal weapons and a hot new feature: animation of a hidden murder using the crouching method from behind. The game styles differ even in the mechanics of shooting: if to fire from a machine gun it is enough to tilt the right “stick” in the desired direction, then a shot from a weapon firing single shots is made after you lift your finger from the screen, which allows you to aim like a hawk’s eye (I’m talking about the one from Fenimore Cooper’s books, and not about the one you thought about).
The good, the bad, the nuclear
The type of damage for our means of death is also different: there are classic bullets, plasma, energy damage, poisonous and of course my favorite – laser weapons that ignore energy shields. Many enemies, and even Marshal Burton, unless of course wearing a suit that does not have such a function, have an invisible energy field hanging in front of their face, which is the second health bar, which Burton, unlike the main one, can regenerate without picking up first aid kits, however, this field only protects from damage to the forehead, so leaving your back unprotected is a bad idea.
But the conditions for receiving rewards for the mission have changed for the worse. As before, the set of items to choose from at the end of a mission consisted of the number/absence of deaths and completing additional tasks, which basically means killing all enemies marked with a red skull and occasionally completing a task for a while. Or rather, it was implied that today a particularly dangerous criminal is listed in the Red Book, in artificial nature he is found only a couple of times, and mainly the bosses are singled out in shards, the latter we mostly take alive, as opposed to execution on the spot from the first part.
In pursuit of a handful of new
Along with the new boss system came new types of enemies: several types of robots, a grenade launcher and a guy surrounded by an electromagnetic coil named after Nikola Tesla, which prevents him from being knocked out by a quiet blow from behind, but allows the adversary to provide additional armor to his friends.
Aaand that’s probably all..
As a result, the second part of space marshals seems more sophisticated in gameplay, but less varied, inventive and lengthy (the game is shorter than the first part, but I caught it with all the levels released after the release, and there was no information on the developers’ website about the addition to today’s patient). However, I wouldn’t dare call her purchase a waste of money. In some century, a NOT free-to-play game was released on mobile platforms, with more or less interesting gameplay, and not just another runner. The best thing is when traveling from point A to point B, or on uninteresting classes at the institute.
